Role Description The Long Haul Flat Deck Truck Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in Abbotsford, BC. The driver will operate flat deck trucks over long distances to transport goods safely and efficiently, following all company procedures and legal requirements. Daily tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and tarping loads, driving in varying weather and road conditions, and unloading cargo as required.
The driver will maintain accurate logs, comply with DOT and other applicable regulations,
and communicate with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues on route. The role also involves basic truck care, reporting maintenance needs, and consistently practicing safe driving and load handling.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and experience in long haul Truck Driving.
- Knowledge of DOT Regulations and other applicable transportation safety standards.
- Experience operating and handling flat deck Truck equipment, including load securement.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as Unloading, tarping, and securing freight.
- Strong attention to safety, time management, and route planning skills.
- Ability to work independently over long distances and maintain skilled communication with dispatch and customers.
- Previous long haul or flat deck driving experience is an asset.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and extended trips as required.
