Position Description

Garden Valley School Division invites applications for the full-time (1.0 FTE) term position of High School Math / Social Studies Teacher at Garden Valley Collegiate effective September 8, 2026 – June 30, 2027.

Garden Valley School Division is a dynamic and thriving educational community located in the heartland of Manitoba's beautiful Pembina Valley Region. With a student population of about 4,300, the division encompasses 14 schools in the communities of Winkler, Plum Coulee, Schanzenfeld, Hochfeld, Blumenfeld, Reinland, and Blumengart.

Required And/Or Prefered Qualifications & Experience

- Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
- Ability to teach mathematical concepts using transparent, practical, and differentiated approached that support a range of learners would be an asset.
- Prior knowledge of Grade 9 Social Studies curriculum and the ability to facilitate inquiry, discussion,



critical thinking and analysis of historical and contemporary issues would be an asset.
- The ability to work alongside teachers, colleagues and contribute collaboratively as a team member is essential.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check & Child Abuse Registry Check

Garden Valley Collegiate is a grades 9-12 high school that is located on Main Street in the city of Winkler. We have an estimated student population of 650, a teaching staff of almost 50 and a support staff of 25.
