Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.The OpportunityOur Glacier Valley Central team is seeking a Mechanic who possesses knowledge of and experience with high-pressure natural gas pipelines and gas systems, including gas turbines and centrifugal compressors.The successful candidate may reside in or relocate to the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, and will primarily report to the Crowsnest Station, along with supporting our remote stations located across southwest Alberta and southeast British Columbia.This position is eligible for our domestic relocation program.The regular work schedule for this position will be:Week 1 – Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; 8 hours on FridayWeek 2 – Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; Friday offWhat You'll Do:Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain turbine engines, power turbines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans, gearboxes, and other auxiliary equipmentAssist in full or partial engine/gas compressor overhaulOperate compressor engines and support equipmentPerform precision measurement and alignment functionsAnalyze engine performance reports and trendsRead, interpret, and update drawings and schematicsAssist with pipeline and valve repairs as necessaryPlan and prepare for unit and station outagesPlan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projectsInitiate corrective action to review and improve maintenance procedures.Demonstrate safety leadership and operational excellenceComplete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, update master data,
etc.Manage in office contractorsBecome a part of a 1-in-7 on call rotationPerform other tasks like general site cleanup and materials inventoryMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentRelevant natural gas or energy industry experienceCompletion of a relevant trades programFive years of energy industry experiencePreferred Qualifications:Journeyperson with one of the following: Heavy Duty Mechanic or MillwrightPrevious operations team experienceExtensive experience with turbine-driven equipmentValve experience, including operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and rebuildingExperience in maintaining and optimizing engines while identifying performance trends and historical dataProven expertise in advanced mechanical diagnostics, top-end/major overhauls, and tuning of rich-burn and lean-burn, mid-horsepower, CAT and Waukesha industrial engines, including ESM control.Natural gas transmission industry experienceAbility to interpret technical reference documents and drawingsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionThorough understanding of stop-work authority (SWA) and safe work practicesKnowledge and understanding of lock out/tag out (LOTO) proceduresExperience using Microsoft Office Suite and SAPBasic knowledge of instrumentation and electrical troubleshootingThis position requires candidates to:Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving recordWork away from home in hotels or company-provided camp facilities 10-30% of their work scheduleSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testingBe subject to call out on a rotational schedule and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response and system critical purposesTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments,
