About the Company:
TecScan Systems designs and manufactures automated Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) systems for aerospace and advanced manufacturing applications.
Our solutions combine conventional ultrasonics, phased-array ultrasonic testing (PAUT), eddy current testing, automated scanners, robotics, instrumentation, and acquisition and analysis software.
About the Position:
We are looking for a Physics or Engineering Physics graduate interested in developing advanced expertise in NDT and working directly on automated inspection applications.
This is primarily an applications and development role at the intersection of physics, experimental testing, data analysis and automation.
You will contribute to the development of inspection solutions for complex components and structures, from initial feasibility studies through system validation and commissioning at customer facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate and optimize NDT inspection procedures.
- Perform testing using conventional ultrasonic testing (UT), phased-array ultrasonic testing (PAUT), and eddy current techniques (EC/ECA).
- Analyze and interpret inspection signals and data.
- Conduct feasibility studies on customer components and applications.
- Define and optimize inspection parameters to improve inspection quality and reliability.
- Operate and test automated scanners and robotic inspection systems.
- Participate in system metrology, calibration and performance verification.
- Support system acceptance testing, installation and commissioning at customer facilities.
- Train users and provide technical support related to NDT applications.
- Participate in internal R&D; projects and the development of new inspection techniques.
- Contribute to technical documentation for applications and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physics or Engineering Physics.
- Approximately 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in R&D;, laboratory work,
instrumentation, applied physics or a similar technical environment.
- Recent graduates with a strong experimental background and excellent technical potential may also be considered.
Required Skills:
- Strong experimental, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of physical phenomena, signals and measurement systems.
- Comfortable working with laboratory equipment, instrumentation and measurement devices.
- Ability to analyze technical problems and develop experimental approaches to solve them.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong interest in hands-on work and industrial applications of physics.
Assets:
- Experience or knowledge in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
- Knowledge of ultrasonics, PAUT, acoustics or wave propagation.
- Experience in signal processing and data analysis.
- Knowledge of eddy current testing.
- Experience with data acquisition, instrumentation or automation systems.
- Knowledge of analog or digital electronics.
- Experience with automated, robotic or motion-control systems.
Previous NDT experience is an asset but is not required. We are primarily looking for someone with a strong physics background, solid experimental skills and excellent technical potential.
What We Offer:
- Work with advanced technologies combining physics, NDT, automation, instrumentation, robotics and software.
- Direct involvement in industrial and aerospace projects.
- Opportunity to develop specialized expertise in automated NDT and advanced ultrasonic applications.
- Group insurance program – health, life and disability.
- VRSP with employer contribution.
- Paid time off.
- Versatile working hours.
- Company events.
- On-site parking.
- Casual dress.
Working Conditions:
