Hi there.. my name is M. Scott Ault, also known as The Ocean Cyclist.. because I'm building a pedal powered boat that I'll be piloting entirely around the planet to promote sustainability.. and I need some help!

A couple years ago, my wife and I were "renovicted" out of Calgary.. our small hand crafting business hadn't quite recovered from the COVID hit and so we weren't able to afford the premium rents that were showing at that time.. so, we relocated to Northern BC to take care of my wife's aging parents.. but my boat and another cool project remained here in Calgary..

I'm back this weekend because the garage that stored my boat has gone on the real estate market and.. I have to move at lease end (end of August). So, I thought I'd see if there was compelling individuals who might want to help out with this crazy project.. do things I can't.. with or without skill- enthusiasm is the main thing.

What help do I need?

Considering I'm a solo project, thus far, the sky is the limit. I am actively seeking sponsorships..



but would love some help getting the foot in the door to increase that end of things.

I'd also welcome some help with the fiberglass work.. the actual making of the boat.

As an update/ aside-

I've just purchased ten sheets (4' by 8') of Hex- Core Closed Cell foam.. it's a super cool, lightweight product that~ when covered with 5oz. fiberglass fabric~ becomes SUPER rigid and about 8x lighter than plywood.. Soooo~ the work I've done on my boat (plywood mated to an enlarged kayak) is just a FORM that I'll be laying up the newly purchased foam and then covering it with fiberglass.. removing the form/ old boat hull from underneath and then finishing off the boat (I can explain in more detail later).

I'm also looking for people to help with documentation..

I'm submitting a proposal to Omni FIlms.. an idea.

And other aspects that may include just basic door to door canvassing.
