Al G. Brown & Associates is an independent estate, financial planning and insurance brokerage firm. We are seeking a Director of Investments to lead investment strategy and oversee our clients’ portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the firms overall strategy for investment clients


• Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive positioning to inform strategic direction


• Serve as lead advisor for the firms mutual fund and segregated fund business, directly managing client relationships and investment recommendations


• Assess clients financial goals, investment objectives, time horizon, and risk tolerance


• Recommend suitable mutual funds and segregated funds based on client needs


• Construct diversified investment portfolios to achieve clients objectives


• Conduct regular client reviews to ensure investments remain appropriate as markets and client circumstances evolve


• Explain investment risks and expected returns clearly and transparently


• Coordinate investment strategies with other aspects of a clients financial plan


• Nurture existing client relationships and identify opportunities to expand on them


• Direct the Product Analyst, assigning priorities and reviewing product analysis and recommendations


• Direct the work of an administrative staff member, ensuring client servicing, documentation, and account processing run smoothly


• Set priorities and workflows for the team to ensure responsive, high-quality service


• Oversee performance of investments across the portfolio


• Manage portfolio risk, diversification, and liquidity across all lines

Reporting & Governance

• Prepare regular investment performance reports for the partners of the firm


• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations


• Maintain investment policies, procedures, and documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in investment management, asset management, or a related field


• Strong knowledge of segregated funds and mutual fund structures


• Relevant licensing- LLQP, mutual fund registration


• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and risk management skills
