Painting Assistant / Labourer — Brampton The Home Tailors is a growing residential painting and home-improvement business based in Brampton. We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking Painting Assistant / Labourer to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the painting trade, gain hands-on experience, and eventually grow into a lead painter / site lead role.

Responsibilities

- Load and unload our work van
- Clean and organize garage
- Organize and maintain tools, paint, materials, and equipment
- Pick up paint and materials
- Prepare job sites for painting
- Move and protect furniture
- Cover floors and surfaces
- Mask and tape
- Sand, patch, caulk, and prime surfaces
- Assist with interior and exterior painting
- Operate painting equipment as trained
- Help with drywall and minor surface repairs
- Clean brushes, rollers, sprayers, and equipment
- Keep job sites clean and organized
- Clean up and load the van at the end of each job
- Help with staining and pressure washing when needed
- Make sure all necessary tools and materials are ready before leaving for a job

- Complete painting work independently
- Prepare and manage job sites
- Estimate paint and material requirements
- Operate and maintain an airless sprayer
- Communicate professionally with homeowners
- Keep track of job progress
- Open and close job sites
- Train and supervise other workers
- Eventually take responsibility for smaller painting projects





The long-term goal is to develop the right person into a trusted lead painter/site lead who can help manage jobs independently.

Painting or construction experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person. A valid driver’s licence and ability to drive a work van is a strong asset.

Compensation

$20–$23 per hour to start, depending on experience and ability. And $27-32 per hour once becoming a site lead.

Opportunities for increased pay as your skills, independence, and responsibilities grow.

Schedule

Primarily Monday–Friday.

Hours vary depending on the project and workload.

Work is primarily in Brampton and the surrounding GTA.
