We're looking to add two individuals to our commercial cleaning team in Cassidy, BC - one part-time cleaner for Saturday and Sunday on a fixed schedule, and one casual/on-call cleaner.

The ideal candidates will have their own transportation, and be able to work independently and as part of a team responsible for maintaining cleanliness in a commercial setting, ensuring a high standard of hygiene and customer satisfaction.

Prior experience in cleaning is a plus, but not required - training will be provided to those with the right attitude. The position emphasizes professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic to support our clients’ needs.

The hours that need to be filled on Saturday and Sunday are 7pm-2am, but there may be opportunities to pick up several additional shifts to cover holidays, personal days, or sick days. This is a union position, and union dues will be collected each month.

The on-call position would be suitable for someone with the flexibility to fill in for the regularly scheduled cleaners when they are on holidays, sick, or otherwise unable to work. The hours that might need to be covered are 10am-4pm or 7pm-2am. This is a union position. Depending on the number of hours worked, union dues will either be collected monthly, or paid for by the employer.

Hourly Pay: $20.57 (scheduled to increase to $21.57 January 1st, 2027). Pay is bi-weekly.

Successful candidates must be able to pass a criminal record check which will be paid for by the company, and complete a single three hour Security Awareness Training which will need to be scheduled during day time hours during the business week.

If hired, you must have a smartphone with a data plan in order to sign in and out each day you work, and run a time tracking program used on site.

Duties

- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies
- Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing to ensure a spotless appearance
- Disinfect surfaces regularly to promote health and safety standards in line with facility protocols
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and toilet paper to ensure continuous availability
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on cleaning equipment and notify management of any repairs needed
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or contamination
- Support facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including trash removal and minor repairs to uphold facility standards
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure thorough cleaning routines are completed efficiently
- Good physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and perform cleaning tasks throughout scheduled shifts
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided on proper use and safety protocols
