Lead the English Language Development stream at the University of Ottawa’s OLBI as a Part time Instructor. This role facilitates engaging, immersive, and task-based learning for undergraduate students. The University of Ottawa is seeking a part-time instructor for the Student Teaching in English Program (STEP) starting November 2, 2026.
You will teach key skills such as speaking, listening, and reflective communication while designing interactive lessons. This position requires collaboration with other instructors to enhance teaching methodology and language development. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver dynamic lessons to facilitate language skills
- Foster communicative confidence through immersive learning experiences
- Collaborate with TEFL Methodology instructors and teaching assistants
- Guide students in a capstone project to demonstrate acquired skills
- Adapt teaching methods for diverse learning environments Requirements:
- Master’s degree in second language teaching or TESL
- Two years of ESL teaching experience at college/university level
- Previous teaching experience with ESL courses
- TESL Certification or equivalent
