The successful applicant will provide support to students in the Pathways classroom. This program is designed to deliver a living skills program to students with severe to profound developmental delays who may also have physical, sensory or medical conditions. Applicants are encouraged to highlight experience in trauma-sensitive classroom practices.
Desirable Qualifications And Attributes
- Educational Assistant diploma or diploma in a related field
- Ability to work with exceptional elementary school age students presenting with cognitive and developmental, social, academic and behavioral challenges.
- Experience in supporting students with communication needs is an asset
- Comfortable working independently, with minimal guidance.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Valuable communication skills and collaborative attitude.
- Ability to work with technology supports such as Google Classroom.
- Positive attitude
- Toileting and lifting may be required.
