Role Description The Pharmacy Assistant is a part-time, on-site role based in Winnipeg, MB. In this role, the team member supports the pharmacy by processing prescriptions, preparing medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation. Daily tasks include assisting customers at the pharmacy counter, answering phone inquiries with professional etiquette, and coordinating with pharmacists and other team members to ensure safe, efficient service.

Assistant also helps manage inventory by receiving, organizing, and tracking pharmaceutical stock, checking for expiry dates, and maintaining a clean, orderly work environment.
This role contributes to a positive customer experience by providing friendly, timely service and upholding all regulatory, safety, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to work with prescriptions and pharmacy-related processes, supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications safely and accurately.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on empathy, clear communication, and respectful interactions in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
- Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for handling inquiries, coordinating refills, and communicating with health care providers.
- Experience or aptitude in inventory management, including receiving shipments, organizing stock, and monitoring product levels and expiry dates.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort using pharmacy or point-of-sale systems; previous retail or pharmacy experience is an asset.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform light physical tasks, and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant program or equivalent experience is an asset; commitment to ongoing learning in pharmacy practices and patient safety.
