Senior Software Engineer - .NET and API
Start Date : Sept 2026
Type:
Contract to Perm
Contract Duration:
12 months to start, with possibility of conversion to FTE after 6 months
Reliability Clearance:
Reliability level Security Clearance OR Eligibility is required (past 5+ years consecutively in Canada)
Location:
Proximity to Toronto/GTA, Waterloo or Montreal areas
Work arrangement:
Almost fully Remote - hybrid includes some occasional travel to office

Our client is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to own meaningful projects that drive real impact for our clients' financial security and wellbeing. What You’ll Do
Own end-to-end solutions
- Collaborate with designers, business analysts, and testing specialists to design and deliver high-quality applications that solve real client problems
Drive technical decisions
- Participate actively in requirements definition, design reviews,
and SDLC planning; your insights will shape project direction and timeline
Modernize legacy systems
- Evaluate and upgrade existing applications to adopt current technologies and frameworks to reduce technical debt
Bridge teams seamlessly
- Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams to ensure excellence across development, testing, and implementation
Champion quality and security
- Embed information security standards into every solution you build while maintaining application performance and stability in production environments
Lead through problem-solving
- Take ownership of incident analysis, resolution, and performance optimization; elevate strategically when needed
What You’ll Bring Core Requirements
6+ years of professional IT experience with full application development lifecycle expertise
Advanced proficiency with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, REST API, SOAP-based web services, and Powershell
Proven expertise with containerized technology such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, API Gateways
Strong SQL and SQL Server knowledge with solid relational database design experience
Hands-on experience with distributed application architectures
Proven expertise with CI/DevOps tools (TFS, Git, Artifactory, NuGet) and unit test automation
Familiarity with modern development tools including GenAI and Copilot
Bonus Qualifications
Financial services or insurance industry background
Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain Reliability Status through the Government of Canada (background check with RCMP fingerprinting) - this requires a minimum of 5 years in Canada
Participate in periodic weekend / after-hours work to support project implementations and system upgrades
Flexibility for occasional after-hours work and periodic travel between office locations
