NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION
Reporting directly to the Supervisor the primary responsibility of the Production Material Handler is to ensure the continuous provision of materials and components into and out of the Clean Rooms, in compliance with ISO requirements and CHS policies and practices.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor production lines on a regular basis and provide additional componentry as required to maintain the line in operation. Verification of part numbers, lot numbers, quantity and released status is required.
- Remove all completed skids of finished product to the finished product staging area to await finished product release and pallet documentation.
- Wrap all completed, released finished product and move to the appropriate warehouse location in preparation for shipment.
- Remove all unused componentry from the Clean Rooms to the designated Returns area at the close of the production work order. Verify part numbers, lot numbers and update the component identification tags with the appropriate quantity.
- Remove all garbage from the Clean Rooms as required.
- Remove any non-conforming material from the Clean Room areas to the appropriate Non-Conformance area. Advise the Supervisor of any non-conformance.
- Maintain the cleanliness of Staging and perform all required cleaning as outlined in the appropriate documentation. Complete all records as necessary.
- Ensure compliance to all company policies/practices including ISO and Health & Safety etc. Report all unsafe activities, procedures, or conditions to a Supervisor, Manager, or Health and Safety Representative.
- Assist the quality department as required in the movement/location of product.
- Assist the production department as required in the movement/location of product.
- Assist Assembly Operators,
Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors with heavy lifting.
- As back-up prepare/stage components by work order into appropriate bins/racks/carts, verifying part numbers, lot numbers, quantity, and released status.
- Perform any other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Preferred High School Diploma and/or experience in a mid-sized company with warehousing and material handling skills.
- ISO Quality Systems experience an asset.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be proficient in written & spoken English.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Operating knowledge of Personal Computer and printers.
- Must have the skills and knowledge to keep all lines of communication open with Supervisors, Managers, and Co-workers.
- Experience in the operation of material handling equipment such as RF Scanner and pump truck is preferred.
WORK SETTING, HEALTH & SAFETY
- It’s estimated that the majority of the time will be spent in climate controlled Clean Rooms and the Staging area.
- In order to comply with all Health & Safety requirements the person should be using safety devices, such as glasses and earplugs etc, where required.
- Must wear approved Safety Shoes in the workplace.
- A hairnet shall be worn at all times in the Warehouse, Assembly, and Extrusion areas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The physical requirements are standing, walking and sitting, with 50% of working hours spent in climate controlled Clean Rooms. This position requires climbing a ladder, reaching, grasping, bending, flexing of the arms, legs, wrists and fingers, and frequent lifting of boxes weighing up to 55 lbs.
Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Pay Rate: $20.41 per hour, plus a $1.00/hour afternoon shift premium. * This position requires the successful completion of a background check, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
