The University of Toronto Libraries is seeking an engaged and collaborative User Services Librarian for a contractually-limited term. Supporting the Factor-Inwentash School of Social Work and Department of Sociology, you will engage students with a strong focus on social justice and critical praxis. The position requires expertise in research support, collection development, and an understanding of diverse user communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as liaison to the social work faculty and sociology department
• Coordinate Ask the Library chat and associated committees
• Consult on methods-driven research reviews and co-author opportunities
• Supervise and train student casual employees
• Deliver thorough research support via chat, email, and appointments
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in library or information science
• Commitment to inclusivity, equity, and anti-racism
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build qualified relationships
• Experience in diverse user community engagement
