Assist families through the Talking Together program as a full time Program Facilitator at Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation in Timmins, ON. This role is centered around community-based solutions and traditional justice practices.
The Talking
Together program is aimed at helping families resolve issues using the Circle approach. The facilitator plays a crucial role in conducting these Circles and guiding families toward positive outcomes. Candidates should ideally have a background in social work, excellent communication skills, and experience within First Nation communities. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and facilitate family Circles for resolution
- Empower participants through a traditional justice lens
- Engage in effective communication across diverse audiences
- Travel to the James Bay Area for program activities
- Employ MS Office software for documentation and communication Requirements:
- Minimum secondary school diploma with related experience
- Preferred post-secondary degree in relevant fields
- Knowledge of legal processes desirable
- Familiarity with NAN and First Nations cultures
