Job Summary The undergraduate program in Medical Sciences is a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences degree with an option for Honours. The Faculty of Science administers the 600-student program, with a major contribution from the Faculty of Medicine, and the assistance of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences. Reporting to the Academic Director, Medical Sciences/Executive Director, Operations, the Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program and for monitoring the success of the program.
They deal directly with all levels of the University operation in areas of finance, administration, and human resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Medical Sciences program, coordinating academic activities, course planning, student services, and program initiatives to support an exceptional student experience.
- Partner with academic leaders, faculty, and administrative stakeholders across the University to support program delivery, admissions, recruitment, outreach, and the implementation of equity,
diversity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives.
- Provide leadership and supervision to program staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team through recruitment, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and professional development.
- Support the development and management of program budgets, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and contractual obligations while serving as the primary liaison with University financial services.
- Lead operational planning and resource management to support program growth, including enrolment planning, course access, staffing requirements, and the development of new academic programming and credentials.
- Coordinate program assessment, accreditation, and review activities by analyzing student and program data, overseeing self-studies and external reviews, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and strategic development.
Note Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a science or health-related field, plus five years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Strong written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated financial management skills and a strong understanding of human resources principles and practices.
Assets
- Experience working in a higher education/university setting.
- Knowledge of programming and admissions related to Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, graduate school, and other health-related programs.
