?️ About the Role

As part of the Project Engineering function the Project Engineer is a key part of the development team for the design, prototype development, first article creation, and transition to service for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems with respect to the overall multi-disciplinary technical systems developed and maintained for Aerial, Surface, Control Stations, Test Equipment, and Payloads as part of the QTSC product families.

? What You’ll Do

- Development & approval with the project manager, sponsor, and project team the technical requirements and work structure for the customization and development of single and multi-company projects for new customer and internal requirements.
- Working in conjunction with the Project manager and resource owners to create, maintain and execute project plans relating to the technical projects.
- Work with the technical and operations team to develop, test, and build engineer designs and operational documentation for the project.
- Ensuring the technical publications including drawings, schematics, safety documentation, engineering reports & operational materials related to the overall project design are adequately completed by the project team within the scope of the project.
- Monitor, and develop with other technical staff the engineering activities for the UVS projects,
- Ensuring and approving documented design & operational safety information within the various projects
- Resolves ambiguity regarding technical issues within the project technical scope.
- Ensuring through communication and teamwork with project teams that testing and validating of overall systems is completed and supports the overall project scope.




- Creating and peer reviewing engineering technical publications including drawings, schematics, safety documentation, engineering reports & operational materials related to the overall project design.
- Conducting training to internal and/or external staff on the overall function and operations of the project deliverables.
- Assisting and/or initiating within the project, the development of Change Orders for approval.
- Work assignment will have critical deadlines.

Skill Requirements:

Essential Skills:

- Ability to read, understand, and interpret and modify engineering drawings, schematics, and BOM.
- Technical writing for reports, work instructions, operational instructions, proposals, safety documentation, and training material.
- General multi-discipline technical knowledge which can be applied to an overall system.

Additional Assets Skills:

- Basic Finance & Engineering Economics
- Technical Project Management - including planning & scheduling tools (Project Insight, MS Project, etc.)

? What You Bring Education & Professional Membership:

- Bachelor of Engineering or Equivalent
- Registered APEGA P. Eng or PL. Eng

Work Experience:

- 6-11 years working in a technical product environment
- 4-7 years in complex systems or project engineering
- Experience in uncrewed systems, avionics, marine, vehicular military systems, and/or design of communication equipment.

- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the Government of Canada security clearance required for the position
- Must be eligible for and maintain a clear background check, including criminal record screening, as required for security clearance

Travel Requirements

- This role may require local, domestic, and/or international travel depending on business needs.
- Travel includes day trips, overnight stays, or extended assignments.
- Travel may be planned in advance or occur on short notice, depending on operational requirements.
- While travelling, employees may be required to work adaptable or extended hours, including adapting to different time zones.
- Travel may involve working in customer sites, industrial environments, field locations, or other non-office settings.
- Employees are required to maintain a valid passport and any necessary visas, security clearances, or other travel documentation relevant to assigned travel.
- Travel to certain locations may require compliance with health-related entry requirements, including vaccinations or immunizations, as mandated by applicable authorities or site requirements.
