Prototype and Fixture Builder
and Responsibilities A Prototype and Fixture Builder is responsible for constructing and assembling prototypes and fixtures based on design specifications for air purification systems. This role involves hands-on work and collaboration with engineering and design teams to create functional models for testing and evaluation. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- build prototypes according to design specifications and project requirements;
- conduct tests to assess the functionality and performance of prototypes, documenting results for further analysis;
- work closely with design and engineering teams to refine prototype designs and address any issues that arise during the building process;
- order and manage materials needed for prototype construction, ensuring all components meet quality and safety standards; and,
- identify and resolve any technical issues during the prototype development phase.
Qualifications We are looking for someone with:
- a minimum high school diploma or equivalent, an associate degree in engineering or a related field is preferred;
- previous experience in prototype building or in a related field such as cabinet making, metal work and plastic fabrication;
- knowledge of electronics;
- proficiency in using tools and machinery for prototype construction;
- proficiency in CNC Machinery and knowledge of prototyping techniques;
- experience with 3D printing and mechanical testing; and,
- a very strong focus on quality and precision in building prototypes.

Compensation Compensation will be determined based on qualifications including experience, training, and education. The wage range for this position is $25.00 to $35.00 per hour. This is a full time position and the successful candidate would be eligible for coverage under Ginkgo Sustainability’s benefits plan.
