Balwin Medical Centre is seeking a Psychiatrist to join our established multidisciplinary medical practice in Edmonton, Alberta.

This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist looking to establish or expand a community-based practice with considerable flexibility and administrative support.

Balwin Medical Centre currently has 5 family physicians and 14 consulting rooms. The clinic serves a large and diverse patient population, ranging from young adults to seniors, and receives significant demand from patients seeking access to medical care.

A psychiatrist joining the clinic would have the opportunity to receive internal referrals from our family physicians, in addition to developing their own community referral base.

Compensation
- Attractive 80/20 overhead arrangement
- Physician retains 80% of professional billings

International Psychiatrists We welcome applications from appropriately qualified international specialists, including UK-trained psychiatrists who may be eligible for registration in Alberta through the CPSA Approved Jurisdiction Route.

Eligible physicians from approved jurisdictions may qualify for registration on the CPSA General Register without completing a Practice Readiness Assessment (PRA), subject to CPSA’s individual assessment and registration requirements.

Requirements

Applicants must

- Be a qualified specialist in Psychiatry; and
- Be eligible for registration and independent practice with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

Preference will be given to physicians who have already obtained a CPSA Eligibility Letter or who are currently progressing through the CPSA registration process. UK applicants with eligible specialist credentials through The Royal College of Psychiatrists are encouraged to apply.

Contract

Minimum initial commitment of 2 years, with the opportunity to continue on a long-term basis.
