The Opportunity

We are inviting a compassionate and qualified psychotherapist to join our growing virtual practice as an independent contractor. This remote opportunity is suited to a professional who values autonomy while also wanting to be part of a collaborative and supportive community.

You will provide online psychotherapy primarily to clients in Ontario and establish your availability according to your capacity and existing commitments. Services in other provinces may be provided only where you are legally and professionally authorized to practise.

The initial focus will be individual psychotherapy. Couples, family, or other approved services may be offered when supported by your verified training, competence, insurance, and agreed scope of services.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide confidential, evidence-informed virtual psychotherapy within your competence and scope of practice.
- Complete assessments and collaborate with clients to create, review,



and update individualized treatment plans.
- Support clients with mental health, emotional, interpersonal, and life-transition concerns.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical notes and documentation.
- Complete risk assessments, safety planning, referrals, and continuity-of-care steps when appropriate.
- Uphold standards for informed consent, privacy, confidentiality, boundaries, record keeping, and virtual care.
- Communicate professionally regarding scheduling, availability, client fit, and administrative matters.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborative professional activities where appropriate.
- Provide inclusive, culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and affirming care.

Qualifications

- Master’s degree or equivalent graduate education in counselling psychology, psychotherapy, social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Current registration and good standing as a Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), or another regulated Ontario professional legally authorized to provide psychotherapy.
- Professional liability insurance appropriate to the services provided.
- Required clinical supervision independently arranged and maintained where applicable.
- Experience supporting adults with mental health, emotional, interpersonal, or life-transition concerns.
- Training and competence in one or more evidence-informed therapeutic approaches.
- Strong assessment, therapeutic relationship, communication, crisis-response, and documentation skills.
- Ability to practise independently while collaborating respectfully with clients and other professionals.
- Comfort using secure virtual-care, scheduling,



communication, and documentation systems.
- Commitment to ethical, client-centred, culturally responsive, and non-judgmental care.
- Openness to learning about The Psychology of Responsibility™ and considering its principles when clinically appropriate, while exercising independent professional judgment.

Engagement Details

This is an independent-contractor prospect, not an employment relationship. It does not include employee benefits or a guaranteed number of referrals, clients, sessions, or income. The contractor is responsible for maintaining their registration, insurance, required supervision, professional dues, taxes, equipment, and other independent-practice obligations.
