Job Overview

Mind Matters Counselling is a growing private practice located in New Westminster, BC.

We specialize in providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and attachment-based counselling to individuals, kids and adolescents.

We are currently seeking a warm, skilled, and reflective Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) to join our team as a subcontractor for 5–10 hours per week, with the prospect to grow.

This is a great fit for someone who values clinical autonomy, flexibility, and connection and prefers not to manage the business side of private practice.

We are particularly interested in clinicians with experience in trauma, working with adults.

Responsibilities

Provide individual counselling services (in-person and/or virtual)

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and client records

Use secure online systems (e.g., JaneApp) for scheduling, charting, and communication

Uphold confidentiality and professional ethics in accordance with BCACC and applicable regulations

Attend occasional team check-ins (virtual or in-person)

Experience or training in

EMDR

Somatic therapy

DBT / DBT-informed therapy

Trauma-focused therapy

EMDR Basic Training is preferred.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or related field





Registered and in good standing with BCACC (RCC designation)

Professional Liability insurance.

Culturally responsive and trauma-informed approach to therapy

Strong organizational and communication skills

Comfortable working independently

Availability to work at least one weekend day

Access to secure, confidential space for virtual sessions (if offering telehealth)

Assets (not required)

Interest in growing into more hours as referrals increase

Completed EMDR Basic Training

Advanced trauma training or DBT training

Experience with complex trauma or PTSD

Experience working with BIPOC or culturally diverse populations

Compensation

Percentage-based split, based on experience and services provided.

Use of furnished office space and admin support included.
