Requirements
- Registered and in good standing as an RMT in British Columbia
- Valid professional liability insurance
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to work independently
- New graduates and experienced RMTs can be considered
Duties
- Provide personalized massage therapy treatments tailored to each client’s needs, including deep tissue, Swedish, sports, or therapeutic massage techniques
- Assess clients’ health history and discuss their wellness goals to develop effective treatment plans
- Maintain a clean, safe,
and welcoming treatment environment in accordance with health regulations and industry standards
- Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend stretches or exercises to support ongoing wellness
- Keep detailed treatment records for each client to monitor progress and ensure continuity of care
- Communicate clearly with clients about their treatment process, expected outcomes, and aftercare instructions
- Stay current with industry best practices and participate in ongoing professional development
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to anatomy, physiology, and massage therapy practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor that makes clients feel comfortable and valued
- Superior communication skills to effectively listen to client concerns and explain treatment procedures clearly
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated commitment to client confidentiality and ethical standards in healthcare
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client
