Join Hamilton Urban Core as a Crisis Intervention Nurse (RPN) in a temporary full-time role. Serve individuals in acute mental and psychosocial crises across various community settings. This 18-month contract position requires providing immediate nursing assessment, crisis management, and harm reduction support.
Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, you will focus on trauma-informed care for clients experiencing urgent health challenges, including homelessness and mental health issues.
Your role is pivotal in ensuring timely access to necessary services. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical assessments and crisis interventions
- Deliver harm reduction education and support
- Facilitate referrals and connect clients with services
- Document clinical information accurately and promptly
- Maintain a safe and respectful setting for all clients Requirements:
- RPN diploma and registration in Ontario
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in mental health or community nursing
- Proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Strong interpersonal and assessment capabilities
