As such, the TteS invites applications from qualified, highly motivated and dynamic individuals to fill the following position.POSITION TITLE: Forestry Wildfire Crew Member (Type 2 or 3)DEPARTMENT: Wildfire Crew / Fuel Management - Emergency Preparedness ProgramTERMS: Full Time, Term until March 31, 2027 with chance of extension.REFERENCE #: 2026-112Purpose of Position:The purpose of this position is to provide safe, efficient, and professional wildland fire suppression and wildfire mitigation and preparedness operations working under the direction of the Wildfire Crew Leader.Duties and Responsibilities:Maintaining individual job safetyMaintaining individual and crew equipment fire line readinessEnsuring training certifications are up to dateGathering critical information pertinent to daily assignmentsMaintaining a safety-conscious and professional attitude at all timesWorking collaboratively with BCWS personnel, contract crews, and other community partnersParticipating in fuel management, wildfire mitigation project work, and other department projects (e.G., TteS firewood delivery program and FireSmart initiatives)Participating in emergency prevention, mitigation, preparedness, and response, and recovery activitiesParticipating in wildfire prevention and response community education and awareness eventsMaintaining full availability for wildfire response (standby and overtime) from May to September, limiting personal leave to essential situations only.Maintaining administrative documents including training records and employee timesheetsEnsuring quick, productive,



and effective wildfire response in accordance with the BCWS Indigenous Initial Response Crew (IIRC) standardsAdhering to safe work policies and professional conduct at all timesAdhering to Incident Command System (ICS) protocolsN/ASupervision or Training Duties:Participate in all operational job required training coursesMaintain certifications required for this positionSkills and Abilities:Physically fit and capable of physical labourCapable of navigating rugged terrain in adverse conditionsAble to carry heavy object (50 lbs) long distances over difficult terrainSafety consciousTeam oriented – works well with othersGPS and/or compass back country navigationProfessional Certification, Education and ExperienceCertifications:WorkSafe recognized Basic First Aid Certificate (Formerly known as OFA Level 1) and Transportation EndorsementMust hold a valid Class 5 license OR Class 7N license with plans to take the Class 5 Road Test.Must provide an acceptable driver’s abstract.Acceptable Criminal Record CheckExperience:Assets, but not required:TteS Band Member who meets the required qualificationsValid Class 5 unrestricted driver’s licensePost secondary forestry or resource management education (in progress or completed)Advanced First Aid (formerly Occupational First Aid Level 3) or EMR trainingHigh level of fitnessForestry work experience (e.G., logging, planting, and silviculture)Other resource based work experience (e.G.,
