About the Role
Are you a relationship-driven sales professional who knows how to earn a customer's trust and keep it? This role is built for someone who wants to own a real book of business — protecting the accounts that matter and growing steadily from a solid foundation.
You'll own Klassen's Coastal wholesale relationships across the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland — working with berry, mushroom, and nursery growers who rely on us season after season. Your first priority is defending and deepening that recurring base. From there, you'll grow share of wallet, win back lapsed accounts, and build new business through a disciplined outbound and inbound cadence.
You won't be doing it alone. You'll work with a Fulfillment Coordinator who keeps your orders flowing and covers your customers when you're away, an SDR who passes you warm qualified leads, and an Install Manager on shared accounts. Your direct leader is our Business Development Director, who provides price and volume targets, coaches you on account strategy and pricing discipline, and runs weekly 1:1s with a structured six-month ramp so you're set up for success from day one.
At Klassen, you're not just a number — your manager knows your name, and when something comes up, someone picks up the phone.
Home base: Gladwin Abbotsford · BC · In-office role with one work-from-home day per week as you grow into the position · Travel within the Coastal region required
What You'll Do
Defend and deepen the recurring base
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with every on-account customer in the Coastal region
- Run proactive touchpoints and quarterly reviews with the recurring horticulture base — the number one retention priority
- Spot at-risk accounts early — ordering gaps, service issues, competitor activity — and run save plays before they lapse
- Grow share of wallet in the accounts we already serve — the highest-confidence growth lever we have
Execute across outbound, inbound, and recurring channels
- Quote, close, and coordinate reorders and recurring business across all wholesale segments
- Work a disciplined outbound cadence into target accounts and convert inbound leads routed to you
- Win back lapsed recurring accounts from a named, tracked list worked deliberately
- Follow the tier pricing strategy — no deal below the floor without sign-off
Coordinate service and delivery
- Hand won orders to fulfillment with complete, accurate requirements so delivery runs smoothly
- Set clear delivery expectations with customers and surface service issues early
- Coordinate with the Install Manager on accounts that take both bulk delivery and install work
Keep your data clean
- Onboard new accounts accurately — contacts, sites, pricing, SKUs, delivery notes
- Keep CRM and business system records current so forecasting, fulfillment, and service all run on good information
Requirements
- 3–5 years of B2B sales or account management experience, ideally in a repeat-order or wholesale environment
- A track record of retaining and growing existing accounts — not just chasing new logos
- Comfortable with a disciplined weekly outbound cadence — organized, consistent, and built into how you work
- Strong pricing and negotiation judgment; able to work within a pricing structure and hold the line
- Confident with CRM and business systems; committed to keeping your own data accurate and current
- Willing to travel regularly within the Fraser Valley and Coastal region to meet customers
- Background in agriculture, horticulture, or landscaping is a significant asset and will be given solid preference — candidates with this industry knowledge will stand out
What Success Looks Like In your first six months you'll ramp with a defined plan, weekly 1:1s, and real coaching from your Business Development Director. Over time,
success means the recurring horticulture base is retained and deepening, your book is growing around 15% a year, lapsed accounts are coming back, and every deal reflects pricing discipline. You'll know exactly where you stand — we measure what matters and review it together on a regular rhythm.
We Offer
- On-target earnings of $90,000–$110,000 per year — base salary of $60,000–$75,000 plus quarterly variable incentive tied to revenue growth (15–30% of total compensation)
- Participation in K-Bucks — Klassen's profit-sharing pool that rewards the whole team when the business wins
- A defended, high-value book of recurring customers to build on from day one
- A structured six-month ramp with weekly 1:1s and real coaching — you won't be left to sink or swim
- A cross-functional support team handling fulfillment and sales development so you can stay focused on selling
- 3 weeks paid vacation
- Full employee benefits package
- Long-term stability with a growing BC company with a clear mission and values that show up in how we actually work
- Direct deposit, every two weeks
Who We Are Looking For
- A relationship-builder first, a closer second — someone customers trust and come back to
- Self-directed and organized — you own your cadence and follow through without being chased
- Honest and direct — you set realistic expectations with customers and keep your commitments
- Someone who understands that protecting the recurring base is the foundation everything else grows from
- Looking for a long-term role with a stable, growing company — not a short-term or transitional position
- Familiar with agriculture, horticulture, or the grower community — you understand the world your customers are operating in
