Retail Sales Associate, Silly Goose Kids

Silly Goose Kids is a toy, book, and baby shop on Danforth Ave in East York. We were voted Best Children's Store in Toronto 2025, and we're a small, hands on team looking for a retail sales associate to join us.

This is an in person role at our Danforth Ave location, generally 20 to 30 hours a week. We need someone with open, adaptable availability, including one weekend day every week and full time hours through the holiday season (November and December). Unfortunately, this is not a positive fit for a student schedule.

What you'll do
Greet customers and offer genuine, informed recommendations
Ring through sales and run our Shopify POS system
Merchandise the store and keep displays fresh and shelves stocked
Receive and process incoming inventory
Pack and fulfill online orders for shipping, local delivery, and pickup
Fill helium balloon orders for customers
Keep the store clean and tidy, including regular cleaning duties
Lift and carry boxes, including up and down stairs




Comfortably run the floor solo during independent shifts
Appear in occasional store photos and videos for our social media

What we're looking for:
Retail or customer service experience
Experience with Shopify and Shopify POS, or comfort picking up new systems quickly
Genuine knowledge of or interest in baby items, children's toys, and books
Reliable, adaptable availability for 20 to 30 hours a week, including one weekend day and full time hours around the holidays
Comfortable with physical work: lifting boxes, stairs, and being on your feet for a shift
Comfortable appearing in store content on social media
Happy working independently as well as with a team
