Chachi’s UBC is hiring dependable Sandwich Makers / Restaurant Team Members for permanent part-time and full-time positions as we prepare for the busy fall semester.

Exact workplace: Chachi’s UBC, 6020 University Blvd, Vancouver, BC V6T 0C5.

This is an end-to-end restaurant position. Team members are expected to learn and contribute to every part of the operation—not only make sandwiches or work at the register.

Responsibilities

- Prepare sandwiches, salads, mac and cheese and other menu items accurately and efficiently
- Take customer orders and process payments
- Complete daily ingredient preparation, portioning and restocking
- Safely operate a commercial slicer to prepare meats, cheeses and vegetables after training
- Follow food-safety, allergen and cross-contamination procedures
- Complete opening and closing responsibilities
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages
- Wash dishes and clean and sanitize counters, equipment and preparation areas
- Empty garbage and complete regular sweeping and mopping
- Continue with prep, cleaning and restocking during slower periods
- Support the team during busy lunch and dinner periods

Previous experience at a sandwich shop, Subway, deli or another high-volume quick-service restaurant is strongly preferred. Commercial slicer experience is an asset, but proper training will be provided. FoodSafe Level 1 is preferred. Applicants without it must be willing to obtain it.

Compensation and perks

- $18.25–$19 per hour, depending on directly relevant experience and demonstrated capability
