Your Role

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Accounting, the Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting will join Cachet Homes as a designated CPA supporting a broad and evolving finance mandate. This role is designed for a public practice professional ready to transition into industry, applying the technical rigour, working‑paper discipline, and file ownership developed in a firm workplace to a dynamic corporate setting.

The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting will prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and working papers, perform account reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy of accounting records. The role supports project accounting, variance analysis, cash flow reporting, year‑end and audit preparation, corporate tax filings, and process improvements.



It provides reliable financial information to stakeholders while offering exposure to executive leadership and the full lifecycle of residential land development and homebuilding.

Responsibilities:

- Financial reporting & close - Prepare month-end and quarter-end working papers, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules across corporate and project entities.
- Project accounting - Support job cost and land development accounting, including project cost tracking, budget-to-actual reporting, and intercompany activity across project entities.
- Analysis & reporting - Prepare variance analysis and management reporting for the VP, Finance & Accounting, including commentary on drivers and trends.
- Cash flow & forecasting - Assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting, draw support, and lender and partner reporting packages.
- Year-end & external support - Act as a key contact for external accountants and auditors; prepare year-end files and respond to review/audit queries.
- Corporate tax - Prepare corporate income tax (T2) returns on a limited basis and supporting schedules across corporate and project entities; provide guidance to the Controller on HST and other tax and compliance matters applicable to residential construction.
- Process improvement - Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, documentation, and internal controls as the department scales; assist with system and reporting improvements.
- Special projects - Take on special projects and ad hoc analysis for the VP and senior leadership.

What You Bring:





- CPA designation obtained through public practice - CA legacy route or CPA (mandatory).
- 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in a small- to mid-sized public accounting firm, or within the private enterprise / owner-managed business practice of a large firm.
- Hands-on experience preparing corporate income tax (T2) returns.
- Hands-on experience preparing compilation, review, and/or audit engagement files, including full working paper files from trial balance to financial statements.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with solid command of ASPE.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong overall systems aptitude.
- Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to own files end-to-end, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior leadership.
- Client or industry exposure to real estate, construction, homebuilding, or land development would be considered an asset.
- Experience with HST in residential construction, including new housing rebates, and tax preparation software (e.g., TaxPrep, Profile) is an asset.
- Familiarity with Caseware working paper software and construction or real estate ERP systems, and experience working with multi-entity corporate structures and intercompany accounting would also be an asset.
