The Senior Business

Advisor, Technology – BDC Advisory Services supports the growth and development of Canadian entrepreneurs with the delivery of high-quality digital technology advisory services projects. This is accomplished primarily by helping clients with impactful digital transformation strategies and the evaluation of suitable business software solutions and industry specific technology solutions.

Advisor is responsible for ensuring successful client project delivery, providing subject matter expertise, active engagement in sales support (pre‑sales) and for promoting the advisory offerings. This position requires a combination of strong experience with business software systems, solid business acumen, effect client management, project management and analytical skills. Deliver a unique offering of technology advisory services projects, including digital roadmaps, system selections,



adoption projects and implementation support and coaching.

The objective is to help companies adopt and benefit from digital technology in their business. Provide knowledge and subject matter expertise on suitable business applications and platforms (e.g. ERP, CRM, MRP, WMS, BI, E‑commerce) and related technologies for a wide range of client sizes and industries (e.g. manufacturing, construction, distribution, retail, prof.

Create client impact and ensure successful project delivery through effective management of project scope, planning, communication, budget, timelines and resources. Work closely with BDC Network Consultants, provide guidance, training and hands‑on support, to ensure project objectives, engagement quality and deliverables meet expectations. Work closely with Business Development team, providing active sales support (pre‑sales), assess client needs, prepare proposals and demonstrate knowledge, expertise and experience that will add value to clients and help sell new mandates.

Contribute to marketing and outreach activities, helping to promote our offerings, developing thought leadership and content, and represent BDC at regional internal and external events. Keep current with trends in digital technologies and strategic thinking that is relevant to SME’s and leverage this knowledge to support our clients and enhance our solutions and tools. Bachelor’s degree in computer science,



business administration, commerce, or engineering with a focus on information systems; MBA or related professional designation is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years in a management/technology consulting environment. Solid experience in leading client facing technology consulting engagements. Deep expertise in business applications and platforms (e.g.

ERP, CRM, e‑commerce), industry specific solutions, systems architecture, infrastructure, integration methods and tools. Knowledge and expertise in the business and operating challenges, processes, functional requirements, solutions and capabilities of modern systems, for key industries. Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices, with the proven ability to successfully deliver client facing consulting projects.

Ability to actively participate in business development, outreach and promotion activities. Bilingualism required (French & English). Travel to client sites, within a limited geographic area, with occasional travel to other locations across Canada, if required (COVID restrictions permitting).
