On behalf of our Public Transportation Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst: Disaster Recovery & Cloud Backup to join our Client’s team on a contract basis. This role is primarily WFH and the Client is based in Victoria, BC .

Summary of the Role The successful candidate will support Disaster Recovery and Cloud Backup initiatives, helping ensure technology services continue to meet evolving business needs. The role will focus on requirements gathering, business cases, project planning, RFP development, network documentation, and testing.

The Business

Analyst will work across business and technology teams to assess current-state environments, define requirements, support solution evaluation, and maintain project documentation through implementation and transition.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Lead requirements-gathering sessions and stakeholder workshops across multiple business and technology groups.
- Develop business cases, project plans, RFP requirements, solution scope, objectives, and success criteria.
- Document and evaluate current network designs, infrastructure, and equipment supporting Disaster Recovery and Cloud Backup initiatives.
- Partner with technology teams on solution design, development, testing, implementation, risk management, and transition to sustainment.
- Develop test strategies, test plans, acceptance criteria, training materials, and governance documentation while supporting small to medium project planning and reporting.

Core Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, ideally at an intermediate or senior level.
- Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery, Cloud Backup, and enterprise network environments.
- Experience gathering requirements for RFP development, preparing business cases, and contributing to project plans and test cases.
- Working knowledge of MPLS, SD-WAN, and related enterprise networking standards.




- Degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Desired Skills & Experience

- Experience managing or coordinating small to medium technology projects.
- Experience working in Agile, Lean, and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
- Business Analysis, ITIL, and/or Project Management certification.
- Experience with enterprise or digital platforms such as CRM, integrations, or transactional systems.
- Experience with inventory or materials management systems.

Terms This is a 6-month contract position. The role is primarily remote, with occasional onsite meetings in the Greater Victoria area. Candidates based in British Columbia will be given preference. The Client is based in Victoria, BC. A basic background check and reference checks will be required at the offer stage. The successful candidate may be expected to use Client-provided hardware.
