This role ensures accurate preparation of compounds, optimal equipment performance, and adherence to safety, quality, and production standards. The Supervisor provides technical leadership, supports cross-functional collaboration, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational goals and customer expectations.Salary Range: $110,592 to $152,064 (inclusive of bonus opportunities)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay include, but are not limited to, the following:Coordinates implementation and execution of all health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policiesMaintains a safe working environment for all employees and ensure that employees follow established safety rules to ensure the goal of zero injuriesProvide technical leadership to compounding personnel, including equipment operation, metrics reporting, testing, troubleshooting, and training facilitationCoordinate daily blend strategies to ensure compound volume levels and inventory targets are metEnsure optimum utilization of manpower and equipment to maintain efficient workflowPartner with Maintenance team to ensure all blending equipment is properly maintained and appliedAssist with diagnostics and troubleshooting to eliminate potential equipment and process problemsMake recommendations on delegation of responsibilities and support the development and training of shift personnelPartner with Quality department to ensure all quality standards, testing protocols, and customer requirements are metFacilitate safety training, conduct incident investigations,
and complete all required safety reportingPromote and lead continuous improvement initiatives including 6S, scrap reduction, experimental batch production, and innovation projectsAccurately document and maintain reports such as operator logs, silo tracking, batching records, and inventory reportsTrack and report monthly departmental performance dataSupport professional development initiatives and encourage growth opportunities for team membersPerform additional duties as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSDegree in Chemical Engineering, or related field an assetLean Manufacturing, Green Belt Certification required3+ years of experience in PVC compounding or plastic manufacturing, with supervisory experience preferredStrong understanding of PVC formulations, additives, and processing techniquesProficient in troubleshooting and working with compounding equipment and automated systemsKnowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality systemsExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsForklift certification and familiarity with material handling equipment is an assetWestlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
