We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Optometric Assistant/Receptionist. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various administrative and clinical tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and assist with check-in procedures
Perform pre-testing for the optometrists including auto/refraction, OCT, verification of spectacles, and visual fields
Helping patients with eyewear selection and ordering, dispensing and small frame repairs
Handle front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and answering phone calls, responding to e-mails and texts
Skills To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
Robust interpersonal skills to provide exceptional patient care
Knowledge of optical terminology and procedures
Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems
Familiarity with medical terminology related to optometry
Previous experience in optometry office with experience with pre-testing is an asset
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks and schedules
