Serve as an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Canadian Armed Forces, delivering trauma-focused care for CAF members, both in Canada and internationally. Lead surgical teams and educate multidisciplinary groups. As a critical member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Orthopedic Surgeons provide vital orthopedic consultation and care for military personnel.
The role offers leadership prospects and enables surgeons to mentor others within Health Services. Surgeons must maintain exceptional clinical skills through participation in civilian healthcare, while also deploying for international operations when necessary. Key Responsibilities:
Provide orthopedic care for Canadian Armed Forces members
Lead surgical and emergent care teams
Educate teams on trauma and orthopedic best practices
Maintain clinical readiness through civilian hospital positions
Contribute to CAF health care policy development
Requirements:
Medical degree and unrestricted practice license
Experience in trauma surgery and related specialties
Solid leadership and mentorship capabilities
Commitment to maintain clinical currency
Willingness to participate in military training
Excel as an Orthopedic Surgeon while supporting CAF members in both clinical and operational environments.
