Become a Heavy Equipment Technician with the City of Red Deer, Alberta, in this permanent, full time position.
Your role will involve maintaining city machinery and ensuring operational safety. As part of a robust municipal government team, you will diagnose and repair various equipment and heavy vehicles. Your work will include preventative maintenance, conducting inspections, and providing guidance to apprentices in a team-oriented environment. Each task will play an significant part in supporting public safety and city operations. Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical and electrical systems in vehicles
Maintain and repair heavy equipment and transit buses
Perform safety inspections and document tasks
Respond to field service calls and minor repairs
Liaise with suppliers for technical assistance Requirements:
Grade 11 and an Alberta Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate
Valid Class 3 Driver's License required
Experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair manuals
