Senior Legacy Business Basic Developer (BBx/BBj/Pro5)
We are seeking a highly experienced developer with expertise in Progression/5 (BBx, Pro/5) and Business Basic for Java (BBj) to support and enhance a mission-critical enterprise application platform.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience, a proven track record of working with legacy business applications, and experience integrating BBx/Pro5 systems with modern platforms and technologies.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of hands-on development experience with:
- Progression/5 (BBx, Pro/5)
- Business Basic for Java (BBj)
- Currently engaged in active development using these technologies.
- Strong experience designing and implementing new features and enhancements.
- Experience integrating BBx/Pro5 applications with external systems using:
- HTTP
- XML
- RPC
- APIs/Web Services
- Experience working with large existing codebases developed by other teams.
- Experience working within a structured SDLC environment.
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience.
- Ability to create and troubleshoot SQL queries.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with both Pro/5 and BBj environments.
- Experience developing system-to-system integrations.
- Unix/Linux shell scripting experience.
- Experience with:
- Thoroughbred BASIC
- ProvideX / PxPlus
- MAI OpenBasic
- Experience with Splunk or Dynatrace.
- Experience in Hospitality, Travel, Leisure, or Vacation Ownership industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain applications built using Pro/5, BBx, and BBj technologies.
- Design and implement integrations with internal and external systems.
- Develop new business functionality and enhancements.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and improve existing legacy applications.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for troubleshooting and data analysis.
- Work closely with business and technical teams to deliver software solutions.
