Lead cutting-edge projects as the Manager of Development Engineering for the City of Nanaimo. Oversee engineering planning and development, ensuring community-focused outcomes. The City of Nanaimo is looking for a permanent, full-time Manager of Development Engineering.

This role reports directly to the Director of Planning & Development, involving independent judgment in reviewing complex development proposals. Applicants will bring at least five years of supervisory experience along with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. Key Responsibilities:
Manage planning and directing of development engineering projects
Oversee review processes for development proposals and plans




Collaborate with various stakeholders including developers and the community
Implement policies to enhance departmental effectiveness
Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline
Minimum of 5 years' experience in management
Eligibility for membership in Skilled Engineers and Geoscientists of BC
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence
