MRS is a growing electrical contracting company serving commercial, and light industrial clients throughout the Ottawa area. We are seeking a licensed Master Electrician to join our team and play a key role in the growth and compliance of our electrical operations.
Position Summary The Master Electrician will be responsible for overseeing electrical work performed by the company, ensuring compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, ESA requirements, and industry standards. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, support field staff, and serve as the designated Master Electrician for the company.
Responsibilities
Act as the company's designated Master Electrician.
Ensure all electrical work complies with ESA regulations and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
Provide technical guidance and supervision to electricians and apprentices.
Review and approve electrical installations and project plans.
Coordinate inspections and permit requirements.
Ensure quality control and safety standards are maintained.
Support estimating, project planning,
and troubleshooting activities.
Assist in developing company procedures and best practices.
Maintain required licensing and regulatory compliance.
QualificationsRequired
Valid Ontario Master Electrician Licence.
309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Certificate of Qualification.
Solid knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
Experience supervising electrical projects and crews.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Valid Ontario driver's licence.
Preferred
Experience with residential and commercial electrical projects.
Familiarity with ESA contractor licensing requirements.
Estimating and project management experience.
Ability to mentor apprentices and junior electricians.
