Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments and document findings accurately in the patient’s dental records.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to improve their overall dental health.
Assist with dental procedures by preparing patients and passing instruments, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments.
Manage patient appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix.
Support the dental team by maintaining sterilization protocols, managing supplies, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.
Communicate effectively with patients, providing bilingual support when needed to enhance understanding and comfort.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
Proven experience working in a dental office setting, preferably with pediatric and orthodontic patients.
Proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to connect with diverse patient populations.
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a broader community effectively.
Prior experience in dental assisting or working with orthodontics is a plus but not required.
