Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mirth Engineer to support enterprise healthcare integration and migration initiatives. The engineer will be responsible for developing shared integration frameworks, reusable templates, managing high-risk conversion tracks, and providing technical support during cutover and production transition activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Mirth Connect, HL7, X12, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, and enterprise-level integration architecture.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain integrations using Mirth Connect.
- Develop and maintain shared frameworks, reusable templates, and integration standards across multiple interfaces.
- Build, configure, test, and troubleshoot HL7 and X12 interfaces.
- Lead or support high-risk interface conversion and migration tracks.
- Provide technical support during cutover, go-live, and post-production stabilization.
- Develop custom transformations, routing logic, and validation using JavaScript within Mirth Connect.
- Work with PostgreSQL for data validation, troubleshooting, queries, and integration-related database activities.
- Analyze existing interfaces and develop migration/conversion strategies for legacy integrations.
- Troubleshoot complex interface, message-processing, connectivity, and data-transformation issues.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, architecture, and business teams to ensure successful integration delivery.
- Establish and follow enterprise integration best practices, coding standards, and reusable design patterns.
- Support testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, regression testing,



and production validation.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for interface designs, mappings, configurations, and deployment procedures.

Required Skills
- Solid hands-on experience with Mirth Connect / NextGen Connect.
- Advanced knowledge of HL7, including healthcare interface development and message transformation.
- Strong experience working with X12 / EDI transactions.
- Strong JavaScript development and scripting experience.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including SQL queries and data troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture and design patterns.
- Experience developing shared frameworks, templates, and reusable integration components.
- Experience handling complex or high-risk interface conversions/migrations.
- Experience supporting production cutovers and go-live activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work across multiple technical and business teams in a large enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within healthcare integration environments.
- Experience migrating interfaces from legacy integration engines to Mirth Connect.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and workflows.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise integration or modernization programs.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
