We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our small but mighty legal team. In this vital role, you will support counsel and legal assistants through all phases of litigation by managing case files and drafting pleadings and briefs. Your organizational skills and legal expertise will help ensure smooth case progression, accurate record-keeping, and efficient communication with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel and and the court.
This role requires an expereinced paralegal who can build positive relationships with clients and work in a fast paced workplace.
Duties
Draft Pleadings
Assist with file review for privilege and relevance
Compile records and prepare Affidavits of Records
Organize and track Undertakings
Ordering, reviewing and summarizing medical documentation
Communicate directly with Clients, Lawyers, Paralegals, and Legal Assistants in a qualified manner
Work a cooperative team workplace
Assist counsel with case preparation by organizing and maintaining litigation files using Cosmolex
Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments
Prepare Bills of Costs and Statements of Account
Draft, proofread, and review legal documents with meticulous attention to detail
Interviews with witnesses and clients
Requirements
Atleast 5 years experience as a Litigation Paralegal or similar legal support role in a Plaintiff-side practice
Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Advanced computer and technical skills
Excellent proofreading, writing skills, and attention to detail
Proficiency in legal research
Effective interviewing skills for gathering information
Knowledge of court procedures, Rules of Court, filing requirements, and calendar management
HIgh level skills in both verbal and written communication
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to prioritize and coordinate activites efficiently
