Nara Katsu on Whyte Avenue is looking for a reliable and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team.
We are a small, casual restaurant specializing in Japanese-style katsu and Korean-inspired food. Our kitchen team is not very large, so this role is a valuable fit for someone who is comfortable working hands-on while also helping keep the kitchen organized and running smoothly.
We are looking for someone who can take responsibility during busy service, communicate well with the team, and help maintain consistency in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
Lead and support the kitchen team during service
Help manage daily kitchen operations
Monitor inventory and communicate/order items when needed
Assist with kitchen scheduling
Maintain food quality and consistency
Make sure prep and kitchen tasks are completed properly
Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running efficiently
Train and support kitchen staff when needed
Work actively on the line during busy periods
Communicate with ownership regarding staffing, inventory, or kitchen issues
What We’re Looking For
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience
Previous leadership or kitchen management experience is preferred
Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen during peak hours
Reliable, responsible, and organized
Valuable communication and teamwork skills
Able to work evenings and weekends
Someone who is willing to work alongside the team, not just supervise

We have a relatively small team and a relaxed working environment, but we do get busy during peak hours. We are looking for someone dependable who can take ownership of the kitchen when needed while still being easy to work with.
