Become a key player at the Health Sciences Centre as a Transfusion Safety Officer, focusing on optimizing transfusion practices and enhancing patient safety. This full time role emphasizes quality healthcare delivery. Reporting to the Manager of Transfusion Medicine, you will lead initiatives related to transfusion safety and education.

Your role will involve collaboration with various departments to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. You will utilize your expertise to drive improvements in patient care and operational excellence throughout the lab. Key Responsibilities:
Lead education and compliance in blood transfusion practices
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective patient care




Develop policies for safety and quality in transfusion medicine
Monitor hemovigilance and address safety incidents
Conduct training for healthcare professionals on transfusion standards Requirements:
Degree in Medical Laboratory Science required
Current CMLTO registration in positive standing
Minimum five years of acute care experience
Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory standards
Excellent communication and organizational skills Contribute to protected and effective transfusion practices at the Health Sciences Centre and improve patient outcomes.
