Senior Project Manager (10+ years of experience) to lead a large-scale Murex migration program within Treasury and Capital Markets- 41459/41479 Our financial services client is seeking a Senior Project Manager (10+ years of experience) to lead a large-scale Murex migration program within Treasury and Capital Markets- 41459/41479 Contract Duration: 12 months (Chance of Extension) Location: Toronto/Hybrid- 3 to 4 days in office (Hybrid - days in office to TBD), 1 day out the week is remote (could change based on business needs) The successful candidate would lead and manage the full program end-to-end, providing oversight at the highest level. This opportunity offers valuable exposure to senior management while providing the chance to collaborate closely with two key vendors, Murex and the System Integrator. It also presents the experience of working within one of the top five banks, allowing you to contribute to large-scale initiatives in a highly recognized and respected financial institution.
Vendor management: management of the deliverables and the outcomes of the vendor Project Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with Scotia Tech’s strategic goals and business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, technology teams, and external partners, to ensure alignment and transparency throughout project lifecycles.
Risk Management: Implement robust project management methodologies and processes to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring successful project delivery. Escalate critical issues and drive decision-making and accountability by supporting cross-functional executive and senior management forums to align opportunities, challenges and required actions. Consistently interact professionally with clients both in business and technology to manage project expectations and deliverables within allocated timelines and budget.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure the quality of project deliverables, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Manage Priorities: Effectively manage changing priorities, project risks and issues along with impact and mitigation plans. 8-10 + years’ project management experience ~ Hands-on experience with Murex and experience in Treasury and Capital market required ~Experience managing projects with budgets of $10 million or more (smaller budget programs may not be a fit)
Experience in other Top 5 banks / FIs - mutual funds, insurance companies, etc. Post-secondary education is nice-to-have, hands-on experience preferred The best candidate would bring hands-on experience with Murex, along with strong expertise in both Treasury and Capital Markets. They would have proven experience as a delivery lead, demonstrating the ability to drive complex initiatives from planning through execution.
Experience with ION platforms would be a significant asset, complemented by solid stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and effectively communicate with business and technology teams across all levels of the organization. 1st Round: 30 minutes | Teams / Virtual | Interview with HM ~2nd Round: 60 minutes | In-Person | Hiring Manager & Director ~ Focused discussion on delivery leadership experience, exposure to Murex, Treasury, and Capital Markets, and experience managing complex programs.
