This position focuses on collaboration with Knowledge Keepers to deliver cultural training and integrate traditions into programs. You will play a key role in ensuring that the services provided to children, youth, and families are respectful of community standards and traditions. Your contribution will serve as a bridge to cultural continuity within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend monthly supervision with the Cultural Services Team Lead • Create and maintain a cultural resource list with elders • Facilitate training on Anishinaabe cultural practices • Integrate cultural traditions into program activities • Assist children, families, and community members
Requirements: • In-depth understanding of Anishinaabe culture • Prior experience with First Nation communities • Knowledge of confidentiality within Child and Family Services Act • Robust familiarity with cultural teachings and protocols • Anishinaabemowin language skills are advantageous
