We are seeking energetic and dedicated Highway & Local Drivers holding a Class 1 license to join our dynamic transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for highway and local deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Load, secure, and unload freight using forklifts and heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery issues promptly
Assist with basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues when necessary
Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to load or unload freight efficiently in compliance with safety standards
Qualifications
Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with highway and local routes
Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, and perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy loads and working in various weather conditions
Nice-to-have skills include certifications in forklift operation, heavy equipment operation, or automotive repair
