We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience and supporting the overall operations of our restaurant or hotel.
Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, but a positive attitude and robust communication skills are most important. The Host/Hostess will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements to optimize guest flow.
Responsibilities
Welcome guests warmly and provide excellent guest services to ensure a positive first impression
Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
Escort guests to their tables and assist with seating arrangements to maximize comfort and efficiency
Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, taking reservations or providing information about services
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
Coordinate with serving staff and kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
Handle guest inquiries or concerns promptly,
demonstrating strong communication skills and hospitality expertise
Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment by adhering to hospitality standards and ensuring guest satisfaction
Qualifications
Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hotel environments is preferred but not required
Strong guest services skills with a friendly demeanor and professional attitude
Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a rapid-paced environment
Knowledge of hospitality standards and customer service best practices
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
