APPRENTICE HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC (EAST SHOP) - GRANDE PRAIRIE (GPC)

The Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic isresponsible for the maintenance and mechanical workings of all vehicles.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure thatTrican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority inall activities
- Operate a hoistand lift device to position machinery in a safe manner
- Inspect andexamine vehicles and equipment
- Service,diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and perform otherroutine maintenance work
- Keep up to datewith industry standards and regulations




- Provides guidanceand instruction to less experienced operators, or apprentice maintenancepersonnel

Experience& Skills:

- Apprenticeshipstatus as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, 2nd and/or 3rd year preferred.
- Previousexperience in a Field Mechanic role will also be considered
- CVIP inspectionlicense an asset
- Valid Class 1license preferred; will consider Class 3 or 5
- Safe drivingskills: driver’s abstract will be requested
- Physically fit –heavy lifting required
- Excellentcommunication skills, both written and verbal
