About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and enhancing Pinner-facing frontend features on the Android platform, shaping the future of how users engage with Pinterest’s vast repository of ideas and inspiration.

You will lead and contribute to every phase of product development, from ideation through to deployment, ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-quality solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including design, product management, and backend engineering is essential to deliver seamless end-to-end functionality. Additionally, you will leverage artificial intelligence tools to accelerate development processes, automate tasks, and synthesize information, thereby enhancing productivity and innovation within the team.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of professional Android application development experience




- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, with a strong understanding of Android best practices
- Experience in building consumer or business-facing mobile applications
- Knowledge of Android components such as Activity Lifecycle, memory management, and UI/UX principles
- Ability to write reliable, maintainable, and scalable code used by multiple engineers
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams
- Experience in leveraging AI tools to improve development speed, quality, and automation
- Demonstrated critical evaluation skills, including testing, source-checking, and validation of AI-assisted work
- High integrity and ownership, with a commitment to protecting sensitive data and maintaining accountability

Responsibilities

- Develop and enhance Pinner-facing Android frontend features to support Pinterest’s evolving platform
- Lead and participate in all stages of product development, from ideation, rapid prototyping, to deployment and release
- Collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to build cohesive end-to-end functionalities
- Propose innovative product ideas and new features based on user insights and industry trends
- Implement automated testing to ensure high technical quality and reliability of features




- Utilize AI technologies to accelerate development workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and analyze data
- Continuously update technical skills to incorporate emerging technologies and best practices
- Conduct thorough testing, peer reviews, and validation to ensure the integrity of AI-assisted outputs
- Maintain high standards of data security and ethical responsibility in all development activities
