Quality Belt Maintenance Ltd. is seeking two experienced Industrial Conveyor Belt Splice Technicians for permanent, full-time positions based in Welland, Ontario.
This is not an entry-level or trainee position. Applicants must have at least two years of directly related, hands-on experience installing, repairing and splicing industrial conveyor belting. Successful candidates must be capable of performing core conveyor belt-splicing and maintenance duties with limited supervision.
The wage for this experienced position is $27.50 per hour, plus overtime opportunities and medical, dental and vision care advantages.
The position involves work at industrial customer facilities and includes scheduled maintenance, plant shutdowns, conveyor belt change-outs and emergency repairs. QBM provides 24-hour emergency service to its customers, so employees must be available to work overtime and varying schedules when required.
Regular travel is an essential part of the position. Assignments may include overnight, extended, out-of-province and international travel, including travel to the United States.
Responsibilities
Install, splice, repair, replace and maintain industrial conveyor belts
Perform mechanical conveyor belt splices
Complete conveyor belt change-outs and emergency belt repairs
Diagnose belt damage and determine appropriate repair requirements
Operate hand tools, power tools and specialized belt-splicing equipment
Follow policies, customer-site rules and applicable health and safety requirements
Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles and work areas in a protected and orderly condition
Work cooperatively with supervisors, technicians and customer representatives
Travel to customer facilities and industrial worksites as required
Perform other related duties associated with industrial conveyor belt installation, repair and maintenance
