Join Family & Children’s Services of Renfrew County as an Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Worker. Deliver protective services informed by Indigenous culture and values. In this integral role, the Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Worker will apply a culturally grounded approach while supporting Indigenous families.
You'll be responsible for investigating cases, developing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with child protection standards, all while fostering meaningful connections to Indigenous heritage and identity. This position requires collaboration with families, Elders, and Indigenous community leaders to enhance the welfare of children and youth. Key Responsibilities:
Build robust relationships with families and Indigenous communities
Implement the Signs of Safety framework in service delivery
Complete safety assessments and case management tasks
Facilitate culturally meaningful practices and ceremonies
Document case progress and maintain accurate records Requirements:
Bachelor or Master of Social Work required
Preferred experience with Indigenous practices
Proficient understanding of relevant legislation
Solid communication and organizational skills
Encouragement for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit applicants Make a positive impact on Indigenous children's lives and contribute to culturally responsive service planning.
